Why It Moved

The Story Behind the Move

ELFup 12.2 percent in Week of July 30 to August 6, 2026

Catalyst

Raised full year sales growth guidance to 18% to 20% from 12% to 14%

Why It Mattered

It rose 12.2% in a week when the consumer staples sector fell 0.4%, making it one of the very few defensive names to gain while money left defensive sectors.

Risk Note

Excluding Rhode and the tariff refund, the namesake brand is the weak part of the business, so the raise describes an acquisition more than the core. The shares also rose 6.3% on August 4, before the results were public.

Reader Takeaway

When an acquisition and a one time refund both flatter the same quarter, the raise is real but the run rate is not yet proven.
